UPDATE: Art work will be available to pick up Weds Feb 22nd from the community Room.

Note that artist’s whose work moved onto the District level will only have an envelope with ribbon and certificate. Artwork will be returned to student from 10th District.

Reflections Update!

Thank you to the 82 LFCSA students who submitted beautiful works of art for our 2011 Reflections Art show! Your work was imaginative and inspiring!

We are excited to announce that 18 of our students work made it to the District Level Judging! Those students names are listed below. Students making it beyond the District and to the State Level will be notified individually in February.

RETURN OF ALL ARTWORK (except to those moving to the District Level):           All students may pick up their art from the Community Room starting Feb 30th. It will be organized by grade level, and will include an envelope with a special certificate.

Again, thank you so much for  ALL of your participation in this amazing show of art! Please keep painting, creating and dreaming up wonderful designs and ideas – and check back for 2012′s Reflections Theme!

Artwork – Judging – Update

Artwork submitted will reviewed by our panel of local artist/judges over the Winter Break.

Students of artwork selected will receive notice that their work will be moving onto the next level.

Students of artwork NOT selected will receive certificate of participation and artwork will be returned mid- January.

Art Show Reception this Friday Dec 9th !

Thank you all for your amazing submissions of art! we’ve received over 100 entries – and the work is absolutely inspiring! We are busily hanging the show in the auditorium for Friday’s reception. (5-7pm).

Please note that it is an exhibition only and that no awards will be announced at this time. Jurors will be reviewing the work at a later date this month. We will notify our artists of who is going onto the next level of judging individually.

All artwork will be returned to your child with a certificate of participation. Those chosen to move on – will be held and sent to the next round of judging. Your child will receive them back at a later date!

We are excited and can’t wait for you all to see the show!

 

Art Show Submissions! UPDATE

The PTA website is having web difficulties and many parents are experiencing trouble downloading and opening the Category Submission PDFs. We’ve posted them on this blog. Please know that as soon as the web issue is fixed – we will pass the information along! Thanks for your participation- and for bearing with these technical difficulties!

 

Reflections ART Show this Fall 2011 @ LFCSA

Annual National PTA Reflections Program/Art Show is coming!

Encourage your children/students to participate by creating a works of art during the month of November. All complete entries will be displayed at our Reflections Art Show Reception in the LFCSA Campus Gallery, December 9th. Be a part of this amazing art exhibit at our school!

Artwork will be judged by a panel of local artists/designers, and selected works will receive awards, honorable mentions, and some will even move on to the National Reflections Show level!

ARTWORK SUBMISSION PERIOD: Oct-November
This Years Theme: “Diversity Means…”
All Entries are Due November 29th, 2011.

(Art Submissions due to Community Room on the LFCSA Campus, marked with child’s name, and should include Student Entry form and Consent form filled out completely)

ART RECEPTION DATE : DEC 9th, Friday, 5-7pm

Students may submit works in any of six arts areas listed below.

  • Dance choreography
  • Film production
  • Literature
  • Musical composition
  • Photography
  • Visual arts

Grade Divisions
Students should enter the Reflections Program in the appropriate division for their grade. The divisions are as follows:

  • Primary: preschool–grade 2
  • Intermediate: grades 3–5
  • Middle/Junior: grades 6–8

About the Exhibition: Annually, hundreds of thousands of students participate in the Reflections program through their local PTAs. These student winners go on to compete at the district/regional and state levels, with the best-of-the-best entries going to National PTA to be considered for a National Reflections award. Each year, PTA gives the following awards at the national level:

  • Outstanding Interpretation Awards
  • Awards of Excellence
  • Awards of Merit
  • Honorable Mention
