ART – Submission Requirements

Dance Choreography:

Students are allowed to submit original choreographed dance routines lasting no longer than five minutes and performed by one to three dancers. The dance routine is to be the work of one choreographer only, and the choreographer had the option of being one of the dancers.

Literature:

Students are allowed to submit original works of fiction or nonfiction, within the genres of prose, poetry, or drama. If English is not the student’s first language, the student was allowed to submit an entry in his or her own language, along with an interpretative translation.

Photography:

Students are allowed to submit mounted, two-dimensional original photos. All of the following processes are permissable: original printing, retouched prints, collage, photogram, montage, sandwiching, multiple exposure, and digitally produced images.

 Visual ARTS:

Students are allowed to submit mounted, two-dimensional artworks of original content. Artworks submitted in any of the following media are permissible: drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, photographic collage, metal etching, punch work, fibers, or computer-generated work.

Musical Composition:

Students are allowed to submit original musical compositions not to exceed five minutes. A cappella (voice without instrument), instrumental, and voice/instrumental compositions are all acceptable. Each composition has to be the work of one student.

Film Production:

Students are allowed to submit film or video productions of original content lasting no more than five minutes. The entries can be in fiction or nonfiction, with or without sound. The student submitting the entry has to be the director, screenwriter, and cameraperson.
